Hi there,
My name is Jess Fuchs - comedian, middle child, and…I’m sure something else will come to me by the time I publish this.
Embarrassingly I got my start in comedy as an improviser in New York City. Living in NYC isn’t the embarrassing part…being an improviser is. That’s a common dig people make toward improv comedy. But truthfully, my improv experience influenced my stand up.
As a stand up I love to do crowd work, bring the audience in during a show, making each and every show unique and feel as it should - live!
Since moving back to Australia, I’ve been performing stand up, writing articles, churning out (sometimes) viral digital content and sharpening my skills.
Some of the best/coolest/most impressive things I’ve done to date*:
Opening act for Fortune Feimster, Therapy Gecko, Tom Cashman and more.
Worked for/with iconic Australian brands and international companies, including Boost, M&M’s Comedy Spotlight, Vegemite, Seek creating cool content.
In 2023, I was the co-host of Netflix's digital series ‘I Have Thoughts’, which garnered millions of views across Tik Tok and Instagram.
Created the sell out comedy show, One For The Girls & The Gays, which is an all female and/or LGBTQIA+ night of comedy. I co-produce the show with my friend and comedian Nick White, and I host the show.
Written articles for REFINERY29 (How I Deal With Sexism And Fatphobia As A Female Plus-Size Comedian), FASHION JOURNAL MAGAZINE (Why I’ve ditched ‘slimming’ clothes on stage as a female comedian') and more.
Am the lead in a short film written and directed by Will Gibb, set for April, 2024 release.
And finally, in 2023 I created my own digital comedy interview series ‘thRIFFting with Jess Fuchs’, where I interview my favourite comedians whilst we shop for vintage clothing. Guests have included Becky Lucas, Cat Cohen and more.
*Check back soon…if things are going well, this list should change pretty regularly!
Anyway! Thanks for reading a bit more about me. If you’re interested in working together, have an event I should attend, want to see me perform, have a question of any kind, etc etc etc, feel free to reach out!
xxx
Jess
